If you are looking for the freshest seafood, Hooked Seafood is the ultimate catch. Wonder of the Seas offers single and solo traveler meet-up groups onboard, LGBTQ+ get-togethers, and sessions for recovering alcoholics (listed on the Cruise Compass as "Friends of Bill W"). Plenty of areas onboard, like the Solarium on Deck 15 forward and the Central Park "neighborhood" amidships on Deck 8, are enclaves of quiet relaxation by both day and night. Prepare to be impressed -- and lost -- onboard the Wonder of the Seas cruise ship. The ship's deck plan is massive, and while public rooms are arranged in a thoughtful way, expect to spend a lot of time looking for directions and doubling-back on your tracks. You’ve never had a family vacay like this before — with more onboard to see, do, play and conquer.

Women lean toward cocktail dresses or stylish pants outfits, though you'll see some floor-length gowns. Men wear suits or sports coats or simply button-down shirts with nice slacks. People certainly get away with jeans if they're a dark color and paired with a jacket or dressy top. You'll find North American-style 110-volt outlets and European-style 220-volt outlets in cabins, along with USB ports, in all cabins. Passengers can pay extra for laundry, pressing and dry cleaning services. A few one-off sailings are six or eight nights or stop in alternate ports.
Luckily, the staff was super helpful in pointing everyone in the right direction. After reporting to our muster stations, they started going through what would happen in the event of an emergency; this demonstration admittedly quelled a majority of my fears about the ship. Our staterooms offer spa-like comfort so you can disconnect from reality and reconnect with your partner-in-adventure.
Complete with an in-suite slide, colorful step climbers, interactive piano staircase, three bedrooms, a jacuzzi, and a movie/game room, the Ultimate Family Suite is sure to impress all kids onboard. With a capacity of 6,988 guests, there is an array of stateroom categories to choose from when booking a cruise on Wonder of the Seas. This space has plenty of comfy seating and hangout space, video games, books, a vending machine, foosball tables, and interactive digital tables. Something new to Wonder of the Seas is the Wonder Playscape, an underwater-themed playground with climbing walls, nets, games, puzzles, slides, and plenty of nooks and crannies to discover. While not the "ship within a ship" concept other cruise lines have, the Suite Neighborhood on Wonder of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's most expansive enclave for suites guests on any ship in its fleet. Despite having such a high capacity, it’s unlikely that Wonder of the Seas will feel extremely crowded.
The experience I had on Wonder of the Seas is one that I'll never forget. Those who want their bags taken down for them will attach the luggage tag to their bag and leave it outside their room before 11 p.m. The number on the bag tag lets passengers know when to head down and pick up their luggage (smaller numbers are earlier and larger ones, later times) the following morning. As I chose this latter option, I headed to my designated waiting area (based on the tag number) and waited for my number to be called. Once it was called, my bag was ready at the port, and I was free to leave the ship.
In addition to multiple pools and hot tubs, you'll find a splash playground for kids (plus a mini splash area for tykes in diapers) and three waterslides. Adults can bask in pools and hot tubs at the indoor 16-plus solarium. All family-friendly cruise lines have kids clubs and food options for kids, but Royal Caribbean really thought about the arrangement of things on the ship. On the Boardwalk, you can find outdoor seating for Johnny Rockets, Playmakers Sports Bar (which has an extra-fee burger menu) and a complimentary hot dog venue next to the carousel and a climbing structure for kids.
In between awe-inspiring vacation experiences, retreat to the most spacious luxury cruise suites. When you sail in Royal Suite Class, you’ll find every detail has been carefully considered with you in mind. Our Sea, Sky and Star Class Suites offer complimentary services and amenities that make every moment unforgettable. Dressier nights tend to be on sea days, often the second and fifth or sixth night of the cruise. T-shirts, shorts, athletic wear, casual sundresses and bathing suits are commonly worn on board and ashore.
The first night, I woke up to the sound of jiggling doorknobs and a slamming door. I panicked, thinking someone was trying to get in my room, but soon realized it was just my neighbors. While I couldn't hear them in their rooms, I definitely heard them every time they came in and out. Also, there wasn't any water in the rooms, nor was there an iron and ironing board. Wonder of the Seas is a cruise ship that appeals to active families, couples and friend groups.
The Dog House hands out hot dogs and sausages on the Boardwalk, but we never found them open when we were hungry. Both my daughter and I agreed that Coastal Kitchen was the best part of the suite experience. It was a calmer sit-down dining experience than the main dining room, and it was fun to look out over the sports deck and Boardwalk while we waited for our food. Everything I ate was delicious, from some of the best gnocchi I've ever tasted to delightful balls of cheesecake. Plus, the Adventure Ocean youth facilities are huge, with space for multiple activities to take place at the same time.
The liner has several promenades, 1x FlowRider, 2x Rock-Climbing Walls, an Ice-Skating Rink, world's largest theatre at sea. Wonder OTS is now the world's ever-biggest cruise ship by both GT-tonnage/volume and passenger capacity. Prepaid gratuities are standard now on cruises and Wonder of the Seas is no different. All staterooms, regardless of class, include an HDTV, turndown service, and the ability to connect to the room next door for larger groups or families. Mainstream cruise lines cater to a variety of guests, hoping to provide something for everyone.
